Gobstopper Fish Construction

You are here: Home / Blog / Gobstopper Fish Construction

After not getting support from anyone finally Simon took the reins in his hands and started consulting with a local company in Devon.
From initial CAD designs of the fish sculpture to many phone calls the following things were decided. These are as follows –

1) Material: We decided that the best material for the fish sculpture would be stainless steel. We chose stainless steel because it doesn’t rust and it will last longer.
2) Edges: We chose to have smooth edges because of the safety reasons.
3) Mouth: The mouth of the fish was made large enough to feed the fish with plastic waste.
4) How To Empty The Fish: We thought on this and then decided to adopt a hatch towards the end of the fish sculpture. This will help to easily empty the fish from plastic waste.
5) Transportation: We thought about the transportation and then included the wheels to the fish and a detachable handle towards the caudal fin at the back.
6) Port Holes: We added Port Holes to the fish on both sides as we wanted the children to see the plastic waste inside the fish belly.
7) Final Touches: The final touches were added by Simon adding a fleck of blue metallic paint to bring Gobstopper to life.
So finally with lot of effort Simon and his team at Gloweasy Promotions have made it and now the fish is finished and ready to EAT THE PLASTIC in Cornwall.
8) Final Size 2.3m Length x 1.3m Height x 0.80cm Width
