Customer Feedback

Welcome to our Customer Feedback page which is here to help you get the most out of your Gloweasy™ illuminated house number.

As we have gained an increasing number of satisfied customers, we would firstly like to thank you for purchasing the sign and also give you some feedback from other customers plus a few of our own observations.

Some customers have placed their new sign near to the roadside and below eye level (nearer to waist height). However, the best place for your sign is set back and at shoulder or head height or mounted on your house fairly high. Where this has been done, the number has stood out very clearly and quickly catches the eye. It is also more visible as you approach because if it is near to the roadside you would have to be directly opposite the sign for the full effect, If you are in a vehicle, this could add time to someone looking for your property.

The Gloweasy™ house number is also clearly visible in the daytime, particularly when the sun is able to reflect on the number. However, the use of white lettering on a black background produces a high degree of visibility even in overcast or shaded conditions.

You may have noticed that some units have a small hole on the back, yes this should be there!
Also, close inspection may reveal small internal air bubbles produced during manufacture. These are quite normal and will not affect the performance of the sign nor are they visible during normal viewing.

As more and more of your views are received, we increasingly believe that everyone can benefit from this product, many people have commented on how effective they are, including normally sceptical taxi drivers who have said that they are a "God-send".
We are firmly convinced that these remarkable signs will save lives.

Responses so far are typified by this one from Bob Negus of Cherry Hinton, Cambridgeshire -
"Thank you for the Gloweasy house sign, which I received recently. It has proved to be a very worthwhile product indeed. Only taking 10 minutes to install and now compliments my recently purchased new door.
Amazing how it shines away in the dark, making my house so easy to locate in the dark. I have had several comments from people living near me who are also impressed with it."

And also, this time from Sandra Murphy, since April 2001 the Community Safety Manager of the Bedfordshire police's Home Watch initiative -
"It certainly looks like a good idea.
We can make our members aware of your products but of course we cannot recommend any one product.
I couldn't find any prices, what are the costs?"

(Please note that we have subsequently put our prices on the home and appropriate product pages.)

From the USA, Larry Tripp, a much valued customer, has written:
"1. For the US ... we have not adopted the metric system - I would also give the measurments of each letter in inches.
2. Let people know that you ship to the USA via Postal Service.
Your site looks good to me. I liked your service."

(These comments have also been addressed in the latest version of the Web site.)

Once again from the USA, M. Havas writes:
"Saw your web site and was interested in your product. I am looking for an illuminated house number and would like more information. Your order form indicates up to three numbers per sign. My house address has four numbers. Will your product accommodate it? I am located in the US. What would you estimate is the total cost for one of your signs including shipping?"
(USA shipping costs are now stated on Ordering pages or are quoted during the Customer Enquiry process and we now provide solutions for multiple digit house numbers.)

And Helen Farrar from Florida:
"We are interested in your product, but we need the 5 digits (34990) and they must be 4", or very close to, high. Please let us know what the price would be and the approximate time for delivery.
Your website is great. Sincerely, Helen"
(We now do more than 4 characters per sign .
However, to achieve the 4" height requirement will still require combining more than one sign )
.

Over the border in Canada, Êrmen Lozinsky comments:
"Looks to me like a fabulous product. We've been looking for something like this for 4 years.
You say you now ship to other countries...How long to get one to Canada and what is the price in CDN dollars?"
(A link to xe.com has now been included on each Order page to assist in calculating the approximate price).

Also from Canada, Dennis Carter recognises the benefits of Gloweasy™ illuminated house numbers:
"I am a retired police officer, having served as a Toronto Police officer for 26 years.
About 1.5 years ago I had the idea of developing a solar powered house number. For various reasons I just recently started to research this topic. Along with solar powered numbers I came across your product. I FEEL IT IS GREAT. It fills a great need in the Emergency Medical System."

Back in the US, Mary asks several questions that are being dealt with at present:
"I am interested in your product. Would you mind a few questions ?
I live in the U.S. and your website indicates you ship to us here.
My house address has 2 numbers, and I was going to order the vertical numbers, but perhaps the horizontal orientation will work just as well ?
I went to the order page and am not sure how to calculate the postage ?
And the article featured in the Bedfordshire Times, indicated there is a color selection available ?
Also, I'm not familiar with PayPal. Would you take Master Charge ?
I understand if you are too busy to respond to my questions.
Your gloweasy numbers are very interesting ! I want them !
Thanks, Mary"

From Mr Horner:
"Excellent, glowing away and keeping the postman happy !!"

And in Luton Mr Terry Hillman writes:
"As a delivery driver covering a large mk area lots of house deliveries I think your product is superb and would like as much info as you can send me about it. Great product."

One of our Decorative Frame customers, Stella Grey says "The illuminated house number is brilliant. The service was brilliant"

And commercial enquiries are always welcome, such as the one from Terry Booth:
"Hello, I have seen your website and wondered if you did trade prices on your products. We manufacture and install windows and doors.
Kind regards
Terry Booth
PS Excellent product !"

Enquiries continue to come from various branches of the Emergency Services, such as this from Malcolm Mugridge:
"I work in the accident investigation team of Cambridgeshire County Council living in Bedfordshire which is how I saw your advertising feature in the paper. We are always looking for new technology which can be turned to our advantage in making the roads safer and the devices you are marketing looked as if they might be useful. Would you be able to give us some further information beyond that on the web site?"

Why not exploit the commercial opportunities of Gloweasy™ signs, as Mr Roger Montgomerie has:
"I have just found your site and ordered a number, cheque is in the post.
I am an estate agent in Dunstable and subject to it working like you say, I will then be ordering these for the people that I sell houses for as a special gift."

This is just one Officer highlighting the problem..
"Hello, I am a community Police Officer in rural Cheshire and have been trying to source the kind of product you are offering. Is it possible to send details to me or is it just the website?
Many Thanks
Chris "

And again, this time from the Dorset police:
" I am considering running an awareness campaign in East Dorset to promote the erection of luminous door numbers to aid the emergency services. Can this be achieved by buying numbers in bulk and selling them on individually or do they have to be made up for each person?
Cost and availability etc appreciated
Great Idea!
Anita Rigler"

From a 'Reflective' customer, Mrs Coles:
"Excellent product, quickly despatched, A1
Thanks"

Glasgow Sunday Mail Logo

And Su Holliday from the Glasgow Sunday Mail writes:
" Hi there,
I work for the Sunday Mail newspaper in Glasgow. Every Sunday we produce a home and lifestyle magazine called Right At Home in which designers give tips and design ideas to our readers.
One question this week concerns illuminated street signs and house numbers and our expert has mentioned GLOWEASY as a good company to purchase these products from.
I am writing to request some images to accompany the article. They need to be hi resolution jpegs and visually striking, whatever you feel shows your products off well.
If you could send a selection of what you feel are relevant images to this email address I would appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance

(We have, of course, sent images back to Su)

After the above article appeared in the Right at Home magazine, Angela Jones one of many customers, was kind enough to send us a copy of the newspaper. Her letter read:
"Dear Simon, Please find enclosed supplement to the Sunday Mail which I’ve also enclosed.
The Daily Record is its other paper. Most people in Scotland buy this.
You will see Justin & Colin have a weekly article page 4/5 and if I were you I’d write to them also, address top of page, and ask if they’d put your ideas forward.
Get some free publicity – you can only try.
Anyway I think it’s a great idea. Good Luck.

 Angela Jones"

We are always grateful for comments about our Web site and products. Here is an Email we received that we are keen to act upon. The site navigation issues raised will be adressed in our planned overhaul of the site design.
"Your website is not the easiest to navigate and once the home page has been loaded the initial options are then never displayed again. I did see the text you emailed made but it made no reference to a name sign. I had only purchased numbers before.
The size is quite small, but never less as I know how good your products are, so I can accept the size.
How much would it be please for a large 12*8 inch reflector sign with “The Gardeners Cottage”, I could use this at the roadside.
Thank you
Seppi"

Pet Dangler image

Comments on the Gloweasy™ Pet Dangler are also received:
" Hi, just to say I'm very pleased with my pet danglers, and may even consider a house sign, but I have one small suggestion. Is there any way you could join the pawprint to the clip so the overall length is shorter eg with a small split ring? The reason I am suggesting this is that my dog's whacks her in the face when she puts her head down or runs about (she's a lurcher so runs about a lot!) and she quite often shakes her head so it is obviously annoying her a little. Hope you don't mind me making a suggestion for an improvement to your already excellent product."

(We have replied that they are made like that is so they are away from the fur, making them more visible as they hang. You can easily adjust and remove the centre piece of metal and re-attach the reflective disc to the top link. )

Gloweasy also works closely with interest groups and organistions relating to safety and the emergency services such as...

"Vale First Responders is a CFR scheme run in association with EMAS (the East Midland Ambulance Service). The scheme is run in the Vale of Belvoir and are about to conduct a campaign to get locals to have clearly marked house numbers and names, particularly farms to aid the emergency services. We would like to be able to 'sell' good numbers etc as a fund raising exercise as well as we are a charity. Is this something you can work with us on?

Thanks,
Martin Fagan "

Gloweasy are also receiving orders from Canada -

"Simon, it is fantastic, I'm in the numbers business since twenty years. Your numbers with no sensor, no wiring no battery and they light automatically at night - fabulous"

Bertrand Desrosiers a Canadian Customer.
